2007 Can't-Miss List
The Agency (premiering Feb. 20 on VH1)
This sizzling new reality show follows the bookers at the Wilhelmina Agency'one of the biggest modeling agencies in the world. Thanks to their 'ber-huge men's division, there's plenty of man candy in each episode (only in the modeling world can a gay man demand a straight guy take his shirt off and no one bats an eye), and the bookers are hilarious. It's cattier than America's Next Top Model!
The Big Gay Sketch Show (to premiere 2007 on Logo)
The visionaries of this sketch-comedy series are Rosie O'Donnell as executive producer and Amanda Bearse (Marcy from Married'With Children) as the show's director. Adam and Steve writer-director Craig Chester also lends his sharp wit to the show which promises live skits, musical numbers, and political satire. Self-proclaimed Gay Pimp Johnny McGovern is just one of the talented comedians on the show. SNL beware!
Hero (August from Hyperion)
Perry Moore'the adorable producer of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe'sees his debut novel, which follows the world's first gay superhero, hit stands. While it's classified as a book for young adults, Moore tells us the tome goes where no teen book has gone before (we hope he means that we get to know what's under this hero's tights).
Queens in the Kingdom: The Ultimate Gay and Lesbian Guide to the Disney Theme Parks'second edition! (May from Avalon Travel)
Only our own West Coast editor, Jeffrey Epstein (and his cowriter, Out contributor Eddie Shapiro), could make us actually excited about going to the Happiest Place on Earth'again! The sequel to their hilarious, best-selling travel guide offers updated and expanded entries, fresh Fairy Facts, and the top 10 spots to share a 'gay moment.' And they do it all while tossing back martinis. You try to do that on Space Mountain.
