Straight Boys and Gay Sex

Openly gay writer-director Q. Allen Brockas sexy screwball comedy Eating Out, which opens March 4, follows Caleb (Scott Lunsford), a straight boy who pretends to be gayand even dates a guy named Marc (Ryan Carnes). However, Marcs fag-hag roommate, Gwen (Emily Stiles), is the one Caleb really fancies. Sexy screwball Brocka (pictured, crouching, with sexy the cast) answered questions about all this for us. Do you think Eating Out plays on gay guys fantasies to turn straight boys queer? A lot of gay men I know have slept with a girl often to get close to another guy. If straight guys are as horny as [gay guys], there is definitely the possibility of a guy going with a guy to get to a girl. Have you slept with a woman? I havent. What did you want to explore with this film, then? Its really about giving thought to the women gay guys are dating when they come out. I wanted the fag hags revenge. The whole idea of how often it is this woman who is getting the leftovers, or getting left for guys. Gwen is quite a character, and shes particularly aggressive talking dirty to Caleb during the big threeway sex scene with Marc. How did you pull this off? For me, talking dirty was a turn-on because it was really just exposing the psychology of what was happening to this guy who is straight and how he went ahead with this decision to have this [gay] affair. It was what was happening in his head that was the most erotic thing to me rather than what was actually happening. If they had just done it, without us knowing what was happening in there, then we would have just thought he was a closeted gay guy. So what kinks turn you on? For my own personal kinks, it is always the environmentwhat leads up to the sex, and how we metthat makes things memorable. The trappings of the sex, rather than the actual sex though the sex is a big plus! [Laughs] Do you have any experiences with trying to turn straight guys? My straight guy experience we were both in a play, and there was one long scene we were not in. So we were together every night, and he was just really horny. We began having [an] affair backstage. It was really more about the excitement of that situation than it was about getting off, or anything. Your film features full-frontal nudity from the two lead actors. Most films and performers shy away from that. Why did you include them? It wasnt integral to the plot, but I felt it was integral to the genre. There are always these gratuitous shots of women in these [college sex comedies], and I wanted gratuitous boy shots. That is why they are in there. We always get ass shots, and Im really a penis guy. I couldnt really find a reason to get their asses in it. Theres barely a reason to get their penises in it. How did you get your hunky male leads to bare all? It was in the script. I wouldnt audition anyone who wasnt OK with it. Did you have to ask them to disrobe to make sure they were up to standard? No. They had to take off their shirts, though
