Frida Kahlo is queen—everyone's in agreement. Her Self-Portrait With Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird is the OG true image with the caption, "mood." A great number of paintings and photos exist to give us a look at an adult Kahlo, but until now, photos of the bisexual artist in her youth have been largely scarce. Thankfully, the Internet has worked its magic and unearthed more than 20 photos of the famed painter in her early years.
Some of the images are likely professional portraits taken at the National Preparatory School, which Kahlo attended in 1922. Other pictures show Kahlo with her family and friends, and with her husband, Diego Rivera, whom Khalo wrote to in a love letter saying, "Upon your form, the lashes of the flowers responded to my touch, the murmur of streams. There was all manner of fruits in the juice of your lips, the blood of the pomegranate, the horizon of the mammee and the purified pineapple." We'll never text, "wyd," again...
